Throughout the series we will talk about the power of numbers. Surrounding yourself with people who can not only keep you accountable to the goals and guardrails that you set but also will encourage you along the way. Our goal for this series is for students to understand why we do small group and to be bought into the idea that there group is not just a Sunday night support system but rather their crrew that can help them in life.
At Transit, we understand that one of the primary concerns for the parent of a Middle School student is, “What kind of friends are they making?” Well, that’s one of our concerns, too. So, we intentionally plan events to help foster healthy relationships. For Small Group specific events, please contact your student’s Small Group Leader.
July 13 - July 17
Parenting a Middle School student is by no means an easy task. And at Transit, we thought, “What better way to care for our parents is there than to create events just for them to create community with other parents going through the same things, to be equipped and invested in, and to have fun?” The Student Ministry team at Journey Christian Church is excited to announce “Parent Coffee Shops.” These semi-regular events are designed to care for you and to prove that “partnering with parents” is not just a line that we say.
There are lots of ways to participate in the Transit fun as you experience your own spiritual growth through serving. You can start by asking your student’s Small Group leader how you can support him or her. Offer to set up a trip, provide transportation to an outing, or host a gathering. Any time you can provide the leaders an opportunity to just hang out with their students, ministry is happening.
